Pastor Thomas Dunseth graduated from seminary in 1993 and received his first Call through the LCMS Board for Mission Services to serve as missionary pastor in the Portuguese colony of Macau, near Hong Kong on the south China coast. There he worked with the local Chinese Lutheran church and St. Paul Lutheran School for the Deaf, which later became Concordia School for Special Education. In the summer of 2001, after returning to Michigan with his family, Dunseth began work in the Michigan District as missionary to the Deaf.
In addition to missionary duties throughout the District, Dunseth served as pastor of the historic Our Savior Lutheran Church of the Deaf congregation, established in the late 1800s. Pastor Dunseth has served as the director of Deaf Ministry and International Programs for Lutheran Friends of the Deaf with the Mill Neck Family of Organizations based in Long Island, NY where he worked with mission partners in Hong Kong, Macau and Ethiopia.
Currently he serves as Associate Pastor at Christ the King of the Deaf and St. Paul Lutheran Church in Flint Michigan where his area of responsibility is missions . Pastor Dunseth presently resides in Highland Michigan with his wife, Brenda, and sons James (28) and Jordan (26).
