Rev. Dodge spent most of his life in Michigan. He grew up in Algonac and attended university at CMU in Mt. Pleasant where he earned a BA in political science with a teaching certificate, and then an MA in management and supervision. He used both degrees in the following decade as a high school social studies teacher and a legislative assistant in the Michigan House of Representatives. A desire work in the Lord’s vineyard as a Lutheran pastor led a young David Dodge to enroll at Concordia Theological Seminary. He graduated in 1999 and has spent the last 21 years as a pastor in Michigan Lutheran congregations. Currently he serves St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Port Hope. During this time, Rev. Dodge has written for the LCMS LSB Hymnal project and the Portals of Prayer, a daily Christian devotional magazine, and volunteered as a pastoral delegate for District & Synod Conventions. David
Dodge is the Ephphatha Lutheran Mission Society secretary. He has joined one of our Deaf mission teams on a recent trip to an ELMS project in south China and continues to be supportive of mission society projects. Rev. Dodge and his wife Rebecca currently live in Port Hope, Michigan. They have 2 sons: Adam (24) and Evan (20).
