Who we are

As a society of the Michigan District LCMS, our purpose is to establish Lutheran Mission Outreach to the Deaf community and to raise funds in support of these goals. It is our vision to see the lives of Deaf people transformed and impacted through God’s Word.

As a part of Ephphatha, the Church Interpreter Training Academy (CITA) instructs American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters, church members and professional church workers in church interpreting and Deaf ministry. Our goal is to train our students to better serve Deaf people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to equip them for service in the Christian church.
